You've built something real.
So why does it still feel like
not enough?

I work with professionals who have done everything right — and still sense that the life they're living isn't quite the one they meant to build. Coaching creates space to figure out what's actually going on.

Does this sound familiar?

Something has shifted — or hasn't

You might not be able to name it precisely. But somewhere in the back of your mind, you know.

"

You're successful by every measure — yet you go through the motions with a quiet sense that something important is missing.

"

You keep achieving the next goal, but the satisfaction lasts only a few days before the restlessness returns.

"

You're excellent at guiding others, but when it comes to your own direction, you feel genuinely stuck.

"

You've built your identity around your career — and you're starting to wonder who you are beyond the title.

"

Making a big change feels too risky, but staying exactly as things are feels worse.

"

You want to be more intentional — about your time, your work, your relationships — but don't know where to begin.

Mark Onderwater — Executive & Life Coach

Hi, I'm Mark

I know what it's like to have all the answers — except the right ones

For years, I moved fast. New roles, new challenges, each one a little bigger than the last. I was good at it. I told myself the unease I felt was just ambition looking for its next outlet.

It took stepping back — really stepping back — to understand that I had been building someone else's version of success. The realization was uncomfortable. It was also the most useful thing that ever happened to me.

That experience is at the heart of how I coach. I'm not interested in quick fixes or frameworks that paper over complexity. I'm interested in helping you understand yourself clearly enough to make decisions you can actually stand behind.

I trained with the ICF-accredited Co-Active Training Institute and have worked with leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals across industries navigating transitions, identity questions, and the quiet crises that don't show up on a CV.

How we work together

No formulas. No prescriptions. Real conversation.

Coaching is thinking out loud with someone trained to ask the question that changes the frame. Here's roughly what that looks like.

First

A free introductory session

We spend an hour together at no cost. You bring whatever is most alive for you right now. I ask questions. You leave with at least one thing that's useful — and we both get a sense of whether working together makes sense.

Then

A focused engagement

Most clients work with me over three to six months, meeting every two weeks. Sessions are one hour, online or in person. Between sessions, there's space to apply what emerged. The pace is yours.

Throughout

Honest, rigorous presence

I'll say what I notice. I'll sit with you in the uncomfortable parts without rushing past them. And when the path forward becomes clear, we'll make sure it's yours — not the one that looks right on paper.

In their words

Some of the people
I've worked with

I came in thinking I needed a new strategy. I left understanding that I needed a new relationship with myself. Mark has a rare ability to hold the weight of a conversation without trying to fix it prematurely.

Lena H. — Director of Operations, Amsterdam

Six months in, I handed in my notice. Not because Mark told me to — he never pushed — but because for the first time I could see what I actually wanted, clearly enough to act on it.

Thomas B. — Former Partner, Financial Services

The questions Mark asks are deceptively simple. They don't let you off the hook. I've had more useful realisations in these sessions than in years of trying to think my way through things alone.

Marieke V. — Entrepreneur & Founder

I was sceptical of coaching. I'm an analytical person — I don't find 'journaling exercises' useful. This was nothing like that. It was rigorous, honest, and genuinely changed how I approach leadership.
